food | fried fish soup with rice @ hwee sao fish soup & congee @ sengkang kopitiam square
I'm so done with readings for today but still have energy so I thought to pop by to see what I can write up next. It's a foodie post again! As from the title, it's nothing fancy, just plain old local-style fried fish soup with rice. I usually have this dish with milk in the soup base and I've tried so many variations from so many different stalls but I really like how it's done from Hwee Sao Fish Soup & Congee.
I ain't no fancy photographer so I just quickly snapped a photo from my table. |
β fried fish are not soggy; still slightly crunchy
β generous vegetable portion
β sweet and comforting soup base
β rice isn't hard like pebbles
π€ the fried fish aren't very meaty but not bare to the extent that all you're eating is fish skin
- fee.
