food | seafood tomato pasta @ miam miam @ bugis

I'm predicting a slowdown (or complete disappearance) in posts since the winter break has come and gone and a new semester has officially began. Regardless, let's concentrate on the topic at hand. My first food review in this little corner of the internet!

My dinner date and I decided to dine at Miam Miam @ Bugis, which is a fusion French-Japanese dining place. I can't make up my mind if it's a restaurant or a cafe. We were there at about 5.20pm on a Tuesday and it was relatively empty.

Since I always strive to not end my posts negatively, I'll talk about the service first then return to the food. Our waitress came across as slightly brash when she was giving her recommendation - while I appreciate her letting us know it was better to order one original than two solos, the way she responded to my friend's question on whether it was possible to change the tomato base to aglio olio with "then you might as well not order since you're changing the menu" didn't sit well with me. Onwards to the food!

Verdict:
✅ pasta was perfectly al dente
✅ creamy tomato base without being too heavy on the palate
✅ prawns, scallops, clams nicely cooked
✅ dollop of mayonnaise went really well with the whole dish
👎🏼 squid was tough
👎🏼 questionable service

- fee.
